How to Care for a Refinished Bathtub

A refinished tub needs less care than you think. Here is the whole list.

The first 24 hours

Do not use the tub, run water into it or place anything on the surface until 24 hours after we finish.

Cleaning

Use any non-abrasive bathroom cleaner and a soft sponge or cloth. Rinse. That is it.

What to avoid

• Scouring powders and abrasive pads (Comet, Ajax, steel wool, Magic Eraser)
• Bleach left to sit on the surface
• Dropping heavy, sharp objects into the tub

What is fine

• Suction-cup bath mats
• A dripping faucet
• Daily showers, bubble bath, hair dye (rinse promptly)
